WEST PARIS, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Fire crews from as far as Bridgton are on the scene of a fire at the old Penley Mill building.

The building is believed to have been converted into a fireworks warehouse. The Paris Fire Chief says at the time of the fire there were no fireworks in the warehouse and that the building was being remodeled. Fireworks are being kept in a store right next to the buildings that were on fire.

The fire call came in at 1:30 this morning. Firefighters are battling snowy and icy conditions to keep the firer at bay. At this hour, a large part of the fire is under control. Firefighters expect to be at the scene most of the day.

No one is hurt and there is no word on a cause for the fire just yet.

Jackie Ward is at the scene. She will bring us updates throughout the morning.
