Mahoosuc Arts Council awarded two New England Foundation for the Arts Grants

The Mahoosuc Arts Council has received two grant awards from the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) through the New England States Touring Program.

NEFA approved a grant in the amount of $1,600 to support the presentation of ARTiculation, a group from Boston presenting an inventive combination of theater and urban poetics.  The performances were presented to the Telstar Middle and High Schools and to the general public at Gould Academy on April 29 and 29.  The group also held a workshop with Gould students.

The second grant was awarded in the amount of $1,200 to support the presentation of a the BoSoma Dance Company which will be held on October 18 as the first performance of the 2011-2012 Gould performing Arts Series at the Bingham Auditorium in Bethel.   BoSoma Dance Company is a Boston-based contemporary dance company combining vibrant, energetic movement with athletic performance quality.  Their objective as a company is to create

First Annual Winter ARTirondack Chair Auction

A benefit for the nonprofit Mahoosuc Arts Council

BETHEL – A special winter ARTriondack Chair Auction, February 26 at Sunday River Resort’s Peak Lodge, will feature the winter-themed designs and art work of local artists on 7 chairs handcrafted by Reggie Brown.  The Auction will be held during the Sunday River Wine Dinner which begins at 7 pm. Guests will experience a one-of-a-kind fine dining experience 2,100 feet after a Chondola ride to North Peak. Spanish and South American fare will be featured along with special wines.

Upon reaching the Peak Lodge guests will be greeted with complimentary champagne, passed hors d'oeuvres, live musical entertainment and a variety of winter-themed "ARTirondack" chairs on exhibit.
