Planned Giving Workshop

Planned Giving Workshop

Wednesday, June 1, 2011
Bethel Historical Society and Mahoosuc Land Trust Co-sponsoring
On Wednesday morning, June 1st, the Bethel Historical Society and Mahoosuc Land Trust will jointly sponsor a free workshop to introduce "planned giving" tools such as charitable gift annuities, bequests, and various kinds of trusts. The workshop is open to the public and to representatives of all area nonprofit organizations, and will be conducted by representatives of Bar Harbor Trust Services, an organization serving individuals and nonprofits throughout Maine. During the event, participants will learn about ways of supporting nonprofits that can result in greater benefits to both the charity and the donor. Individuals who find any of the options of interest should of course consult their own financial or legal advisers. Both sponsoring organizations wish to emphasize that this is not a fundraising event, but, rather, a valuable educational opportunity.
