Traffic stop leads to drug bust in Bethel

BETHEL, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A traffic stop led to a drug bust in Bethel.

Maine State Police said a car was stopped, for operating without tail lights, at a residence on East Bethel Road at 7:45 p.m. on Sunday. The operator of the vehicle, 39-year-old Keith Behan was arrested for violation of bail conditions for a previous offense. The owner of the residence, 30-year-old Ashley Hautaniemi, was a passenger in Behan's car. Four pounds of marijuana and a growing operation were found in the residence. A total of 14 live plants and three to four pounds of processed marijuana were discovered.

The case will be turned over to the District Attorney's office for review and charges.
