With CSA's and CSF's you commit to purchasing a share of the coming harvest before the season begins. The benefit? You get to support local farms and fishermen while getting your locally grown and harvested food direct from the producer at a fair price.

Come to one of the eleven fair locations statewide to: learn about buying a share; become acquainted with local seasonal foods; meet your local farmers and fishermen; and discover how you can grow a relationship with them. Community Supported Fisheries may not be represented in all locations.

During January and February, Maine families and other visitors will be able to enjoy fun, affordable, day-long outdoor activities at some of the most beautiful locales in the state, according to Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands (BPL) officials.

Two major ice-fishing derbies will be held, as will four winter-fun days when families can try out such activities as cross-country skiing, sledding, snow shoeing and dog sled rides.

“This is the third year of our ‘Take It Outside’ winter events, and we’re hoping for as great a response as we have seen in the past,” Will Harris, BPL director, said.

The Peterson Project is a bluesgrazz acoustic trio (blues, bluegrass & jazz mash-up), formed in 2009. Working a single mic, they slide from one genre to another, sometimes mid-tune. Mark Peterson's voice is smooth, his blues harmonica commanding; when not taking the lead it supports the back beat for Mike Conant's bluegrass-style instrumentation (guitar, banjo, and occasionally frenetic fiddle). Keeping this train on the tracks is jazz standup bassist Tim Clough.
