Approximately 500 athletes from 80 communities across the state competed at Sugarloaf in the Maine Special Olympics Winter Games.

Competing in snow shoeing, Nordic and alpine skiing, the six member team brought home an impressive 5 gold medals, 3 silver medals,1 bronze medal as well as numerous ribbons. The Progress Center team is coached by Sheli Derosier, Lisa Durgin and Theresa Douglas.

The team wishes to thank their coaches, family, friends, as well as the community for their support and the generosity shown at their fundraising events.

The Progress Center, located in Norway, is both proud and honored to be the recipient of $1,600 in grant funding from the Gannett Foundation and WCSH6 to support the Oxford Hills Community Table.  The generosity of the Gannett Foundation will benefit many as we continue to help provide food security within the greater Oxford Hills region.
